1. I always love watching the rat one. We have never done any real serious training with our rats, though we have had one who tried to teach /us/ how to communicate with him. We went out and bought him little recordable sound things that activate when you push a button and were going to let him tell us what he wanted by pushing the button. (Say, if he wanted kisses, he’d push the button that would say “kisses” and we would come kiss him.) Sadly, just as we started training him to push the buttons, he came down with pneumonia and passed away.
